What You Can Do...

Ceramic Mugs
Bring your own ceramic coffee mug to meetings or the quick  markets and ask if you can  refill that instead of using a Styrofoam cup.

Cleanup
Use cloth towels instead of paper, they can be used again & again.

Donate
Clean up & donate your gently used toys to a charitable group or hospital.  Bring old books you don't want to your library, check with your local library first to see if they'll accept them.

Grocery Shopping
When you go shopping, bring your own cloth bag or recycled grocery bags.  Most grocery stores pay you a few cents to use your own bags.  Congratulations to Kinsley's ShopRite in Brodheadsville, PA for purchasing new shopping carts made from recycled plastics!

Mosaic
Save broken & chipped plates, tiles & stained glass to use in surface decorating something old with a beautiful mosaic.

Paper Recycling
Save paper.  Use both sides of every sheet or cut it up in small squares for note paper.

Rag Bag
Keep a rag bag of old, torn clothes and have a supply of rags to help clean house or use for messy projects.

Refill
Ask retailers to sell products in refillable containers.

Repair
Ease the burdon on the environment by fixing broken toys & other items instead of discarding.

Reuse
Take packaging "peanuts" to pack & ship businesses for reuse.

Six-Pack Rings
Before you toss six-pack rings into the garbage, cut all the circles with scissors so animals and birds can't get caught in them.

Slate
Save old SLATE roofing shingles for people to paint on.

Tire Swing
Hang an old tire swing for your kids, they'll love it!  Make sure to drill a hole in the bottom, so the rain water can escape.  Supervise them when swinging so they don't hit the tree trunk!  Ouch!

Whoops Paint
Most paint stores have mixed tint paints that are new, excellent quality paints, but didn't meet the customers exact color needs.  You can buy gallons of this paint for a few dollars and complete a small room, use for craft projects, use as an undercoating, etc.
